This is a departure from my typical blog posts.
Usually I talk about managing your website, building your business, being more productive, blah, blah, blah. But this one is a bit more personal.
One of my clients from the past several years was Dr. Barbara Plasker. Although I only met Dr. Plasker in person a handful of times, I knew at each encounter that I was in the presence of a woman that had great wisdom, empathy, fairness and grace.
Dr. Plasker was an Educator, an Author, a Consultant, a Volunteer, a Mother and Wife, and a good Friend to many. That merely names some of the roles that she had thoughout her life. But quite notably, the many accomplishments she ascertained were despite several significant tragedies she encountered throughout her life. I won't detail them here, but she explained some of them in her book, "Simple Ways to Transform Your Life". It was all there in plain black and white on paper, triumphs and setbacks. Yet, at each stage, her perspective on life was what measured the true net result for her, and those around her.
Dr. Plasker passed away in late August of 2019. I accidentally found out just recently. We never know when our last moments are on Earth. I'm glad some of mine over the past several years were in the presence of Dr. Barbara Plasker.
We have some clients that are really tough individuals, or are difficult to work with. I'm just being honest. But if I could trade in all those people for more wonderful, kindred spirits for many, many more people like Dr. Barbara Plasker, I would do so in a heartbeat.
On my coffee table at home is Dr. Plasker's book that I mentioned above. I'll be reading it again, this time from the perspective of one whose Wisdom has now become a part of the Eternal Ages.
Barbara: May you rest in peace, in God's arms.
