I am currently sitting in the Stony Point Pancake Factory, whose website we built. Not a huge project, mainly just nice design, imagery and layout. Oh and mobile friendly, of course!
I've been here since 7 am. This is day one of the business opening. I was the first customer they ever had.
For the first hour, the place was dead. Nobody, except me. Word hadn't gotten out yet about the new business.
I subsequently posted this to the North Rockland Community Facebook group (which has 16k members):
Good morning, North Rockland!
Pancake Factory opens today. If you go to visit, please make sure you tell them you are from the North Rockland Community Facebook Group! Let's give a warm welcome to this new business!
As I watched over the next 2 hours, the place slowly but surely filled up. As it steadily nears capacity, it now feels like it's busy, blooming with customers!
I truly feel quite sense of pride right now. Not just from the Facebook post - that was just a quick mention that kind of accidentally took off, but more importantly from the great website that our team built, the foot traffic that was generated and will continue to be generated from the website, and most importantly -- the benefit that the Pancake Factory's customers will receive from the business - in this case great food, atmosphere, and another great place to go to eat in North Rockland. (As I write this, I can smell the distinct scent of freshly-made pancakes! Already had my Patriot Omelette - guess I'll have to come back!)
I know you're not here to see it today, but I would encourage you to drop in and see this place for yourselves. It is located at 32 S. Liberty Drive, in Stony Point NY.
Thanks for reading this post. These days someone will probably look at it and say HUMBLEBRAG, but honestly, I don't care. This place is awesome, and I have no problem bragging about my team's work, and the small part we are playing in their success.
Have a great week. ;-)
